KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Pamela Hodges Kulinna

Pamela Hodges Kulinna is a professor in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. Dr. Kulinna is a member of the National Academy of Kinesiology, and a Fellow in AIESEP and SHAPE America. She studies Physical Education, Healthy and Active Schools, and the Spectrum of Teaching Styles. She has more than 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, numerous book chapters, and more than 220 national/international presentations.

Donetta Cothran

Donetta J. Cothran is a Professor at Indiana University. She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology and SHAPE America. Dr. Cothran is the author of numerous publications of a variety of types, most of which focus on the teacher and student experience in physical education. She has won multiple Indiana University teaching awards and is a former K-12 teacher. When not thinking about Mosston’s Spectrum, she enjoys travelling, gardening, and the great outdoors.

Marios Goudas

Marios Goudas is Professor of Psychology of Physical Education and Youth Sport at the University of Thessaly, Greece. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1991) and a Phd from Exeter University UK (1994). He has published more than 140 papers and book chapters in national and international journals including the Sport Psychologist, Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, Journal of Learning and Instruction and Learning and Individual Differences and seven books including the Greek National Curriculum for Grade 7 Physical Education.  These works have received more than 10.500 citations. He has been awarded the University of Thessaly Distinguished Researcher in Social Sciences and Humanities award in 2013. His research focuses on the development and assessment of generalizable life-skills and self-regulatory skills programs in physical education and youth sport. He has applied his research on work with young athletes and youth sport academies implementing programs for enhancing young athletes’ life-long competencies and transferable skills.

Nigel Green

Nigel Green is currently a physical education and physical literacy consultant having been a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education at Liverpool John Moores University from 2009 – 2018. He taught physical education in four secondary schools for 29 years prior to this, during this time he led three departments, a faculty (including PE, Art, Music, Dance and Drama) and a networked community. Nigel has been involved in training teachers and providing professional development for over thirty years, in the UK and more recently in India, Taiwan and many other countries worldwide. As Chair of the International Physical Literacy Association, Vice Chair of the North Western Counties Physical Education Association, and UK representative and Executive Committee member of the European Union Physical Education Association, Nigel demonstrates a commitment and passion to promote and support the development of physical education and physical literacy worldwide. He has written articles, delivered CPD, organised and presented at workshops, webinars and conferences on physical literacy and physical education. Nigel is editor of the Research Matters section of the AfPE journal and is currently working with schools, organisations, and governments both in the UK and across the world.
